For autistic children and juveniles the world is often chaotic and hardly consistent or meaningful. Autistic children have a deviation that puts high demands to the support and care. One of the most important tasks in care for the autistic children is to make the world predictable. Regularity and structure offer the kid grip on the environment. But in a vacation things tend to go differently. For an autistic child the vacation-period the tough. The Soothing rithm of school is not present. Often they are alone for longer periods. And specially in the vaction the family wants to take a break and do things normally not possible.
In the Netherlands there are about 100.000 people with a form of autistic disabilities. The SVA organizes special vacations with extra support for those children.
The tour – support
The tour will start at the place called Eijsden in the down-south province Limburg. Over 9 days Evelien will skate 550 kilometers, not including the distance she will skate during the two nightskates she will also cover; in Tilburg and Groningen – both on the fridaynights. You can ride along with Evelien for Eur.10,- per day.
